Meet Our Staff
Christy Merrett, LCSW
Christy graduated from Florida State University with a Master of Science degree in Criminology and a Master of Social Work degree, specializing in clinical practice. She is licensed by the state of Georgia as an LCSW and has been in the counseling profession for over 10 years. She employs techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing to address specific behavioral problems and facilitate change. She is a clinical member of ATSA and has served as an expert witness in multiple sexual offender cases.
Lisa Southerland, LPC
Lisa graduated from The University of North Georgia with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She then went on to earn her Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and specializes in community clinical counseling. She is licensed by the state of Georgia as an LPC and has been in the counseling profession for nearly 10 years. She uses cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing in her therapeutic approach and applies other principles from family systems therapy when appropriate. She is a member of ATSA and has served as an expert witness in many sexual offender cases as well as cases related to domestic violence and parental fitness. She enjoys being an active member of her community and is a member of Christ Place Church with her husband and three children.
Brittany Faircloth, LPC
Brittany earned her Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Georgia and her Masters in Clinical Counseling Psychology at Brenau University. She is currently licensed as an LPC. She was an intern at Family Recovery and following graduation started working at a community mental health clinic. Brittany came back at the end of 2016 to work in the Monroe Office of Family Recovery, in addition to her work in mobile crisis assessment. Brittany has a strong background in mental health services and crisis intervention. She is also a member of ATSA.
Jodie Schneeberg, MS, LAPC
In addition to our licensed clinical staff, we also are pleased to provide our clients with both associate licensed part-time therapists and masters level interns who provide services under the direction and supervision of our licensed counselors and social workers.
Family Recovery’s team of professionals is actively engaged in coordinated community response.
Members of our team serve in the following organizations: Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers, Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia, Georgia Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers, Northeastern Judicial Circuit Domestic Violence Task Force, GA-PRI (Prison Re-Entry Initiative), and the Gwinnett Re-Entry Alliance.
